Case Study: Ice Breaker Contest

Collecting votes

An E-mail message was sent asking members to begin the voting process. Again, a reminder message was sent halfway into the voting process.

A Survey Monkey survey was used for the ballot. Survey Monkey makes it quite easy to organize a ballot like this, using the “weighted matrix” option which assigns a numerical value to each choice. The ballot utilized a different page for each category, with all 10 entries shown. Members simply selected their top five ice breakers, one per line, by clicking the radio button grading each one from one to five. Each choice assigned a numerical value. This made it easy to create a graph showing the cumulative voting results for each category.
