I’ve featured an ad from German Bank Forum in the past, and chose to do so again to highlight the consistency of a great strategy. When you want to show a brand strength like this, one of timeless stability, the last thing you want to do is to change your approach to advertising. The campaign is really quite brilliant, and an excellent example of how a photo and headline, each of them uninspiring by itself, become exceptionally powerful when they are put together. Hysteria. Germany style. So true. And, with that stoic visual, a great message for a banking brand.
Note also how the headline is pointed directly at the one eyebrow that is slightly raised, a subtle guide for people who might not see it right away.
Millions of new ads are crafted around the world every day. A handful are worthy of attention. Of those, a small selection are the source of inspiration and insight for others. George looks for ads with special qualities. These might stand out because of a great concept, art direction, photography, or some other element setting them apart from the others. A new one is posted every week.
